ABOUT THE PLAY: Under the guidance of theatre artist, educator, and culture bearer Nicole C. Limón, an ensemble of local perfomring artsts have collaborated to create a new devised play about the treatment of people with uterues during outpatient gynocological procedures such as pap smears, IUD placements, colposcopies, cervical biopsies, and pelvic exams. The performance material was derived from interviews, guided research, surveys, conversation, and theatre activities explored with the ensemble during rehearsal sessions.

With wit, humor, empathy and ceremony, - as well as a dash of physical theatre - "Just A Pinch: A Uterus Play" explores the way people with uteruses are treated during routine exams and outpatient procedures and the potentially widespread lack of pain relief and humane care that people encounter during these visits to the doctor. Join us as we bring our work to the stage!
