I propose a body of work composed of eight to ten new paintings each representing a different climate zone in the state of California and incorporating a person or people who live(s) in that region. This is a direct representation of both the population of the place and the place itself including the diverse flora and fauna of each region. California has fifteen or sixteen climate zones, but I will focus on Cold Mountain, Northern Coastal, Northern Inland, Hot Central Valley, High Desert, Low Desert, Southern Inland, and Southern Coastal.
